Runway Model to Inca Warrior Princess

Let me tell you, runway skills come in real handy in life or death situations. I'm serious! You try walking along narrow light beams across spike-filled caverns, and you'll be awfully glad that you spent all those hours practicing on tightrope-thin runway trainers. Earlier this month, I put everything I've got to the test while on the quest for the Lost Treasure of the Inca Warrior. This adventure is the most recent interactive game produced by MadPea, and it is the most flawlessly executed, gorgeously designed, challenging and high quality gaming experience I have had in Second Life to date. I honestly felt like I was in a movie on some epic and perilous journey through mystical lands in search of bountiful treasure.

And what, besides a cache of gold, was I searching for? The puzzle solving, hunt-style game's sponsors include Boudoir and Kastle Rock Couture among many others, and they give very generous prizes to those who successfully complete the mission. Well worth it for a model, in my opinion, and the high quality is what initially enticed me to play. Here I am dressed as an Inca warrior princess wearing several of the gifts, and I'm reclining on a golden throne in a luscious sound garden that are also among the amazing prizes. I certainly deserved this peaceful rest after such an incredible journey!

Kastle Rock Couture designed Incan and Mayan outfits for the men and women, and I'm loving these rich gold and earth-toned silks. The glorious feathery headdress by Boudoir is modifiable, so I color edited it to match the silks. It was originally a striking light gold and royal blue, which I look forward to wearing with another ensemble. I paired this with another headpiece by Frippery, which is finely crafted and glistens in the light. To finish the outfit, I'm wearing Vanity hair and the Gaeline Creations line of bare feet and coordinating sandals. I was pleasantly surprised by their quality and range of options, which includes applying tattoos in any color on the feet and a variety of nail art and effects. I took advantage of this feature so I could closely match the intricate henna body tattoo prize that emblazes my skin with golden luster.

My style:

Silks: Maya Silk Gown in Dragon by Kastle Rock Couture *
Feather Headdress: Inca male/female headpiece by Boudoir *
Gold Headdress: Child of the Sun Headdress by Frippery *
Body Tattoo: INTI 50% tintable by Fallen Gods Inc. *

Feet: Flat Bare Feet by Gaeline Creations
Sandals: Chloe Sandals in Shiny Metal by Gaeline Creations
Hair: Alice in Nova Black by Vanity Hair

Eyelashes: BlackDarling by Redgrave

Scenery:

Environment: Inca Sound Garden by Patron *
Throne & Gold: Kings Ransom Throne Set by Roawenwood*

* Denotes Lost Treasure of the Inca Warrior prizes. Only a few have been photographed!

The sims that you travel through on this quest are also incredibly beautiful and perfect places to snap pictures of your next outfit. I enjoyed exploring these sims so much and developing my candid-style photography skills (AO only, with occasional object pose), that it really became more about the quest than the finish. You can follow my journey in this slideshow. I'm wearing an outfit that I have previously blogged, but I added a great explorer's hat by Loki (another one of the game's sponsors, and more explorer's gear is included in their prize) to complete the experience. I actually got some compliments on this outfit during the course of the hunt!

If you dare, go on the quest yourself and claim your prizes. But hurry, it only runs through May 31st! Your journey starts here. Happy hunting!

Modeling a Gift from La Sirena Boutique

While I was out on the beach modeling the bikini from my last post, a new designer approached me and offered one of her swimsuits for free. To repay the favor, I tried it on and snapped this picture, sending it back to the designer as a thank you card.

La Sirena is an Italian boutique specializing in swimwear and lingerie. The white bikini set that I am wearing features a plunging top with triangle-shaped cups and V-shaped panty that have a wide band embroidered in gold with the designer's logo. This Regalo swimwear set and more clothing designs from La Sirena are available on the marketplace here: La Sirena Boutique. Thanks again!

Strutting Your Stuff: Bikini Thong Theme

It's time to show off more of what I've been learning in my advanced modeling pageant class!

This past week I was given styling requirements for the swimwear portion of a pageant. The explicit instructions were to wear a thong bikini with appropriate styling and to walk the runway, stopping at six marked locations and finishing with a bow and kiss to the audience.

Sounds simple? Well, first I had to find the perfect itty-bitty bikini that complements my figure. (I struck gold with this one!) Then I had to accessorize with jewelry, shoes and hairstyle that are appropriate for wearing to the beach. However minimal, it's the little details that make a barely there bikini look polished.

Last but definitely not least, I had to put together a set of eighteen poses with fluid animations for each stop on the runway. The ultimate perfection: natural, carefree looks and turns that show all this off. No one would ever guess how much work goes into making all this happen in SL!

So all that finally accomplished, I teleported to CWS's red pageant venue and proudly practiced strutting down the runway. With a little imagination, I could picture showing off these skills to an audience. I give you a little turn, right here in this blog!

We were also asked to submit a description of our styling, which would be read by an announcer as we walked down the runway. While preparing my note card, I found that you can actually say quite a lot about so little clothing. Here is my pageant description:

Laura Reverie is wearing a flirty floral bikini created by Rosenwolf Designs that is just perfect for this summer. It has a fun print in gorgeous violet, purple and pink tones that are a splash of color on her skin. She loves to walk on the beach in this tiny bikini top and even smaller thong bottom, with strings that tie into little bows. Laura has pulled her hair into a loose up-do with long windswept bangs and cute curls that sway in the breeze. A white headband holds it all in place, with a violet hibiscus flower as an accent for her face. On her wrist, she wears a matching floral bracelet with purple beads and feathers. Her earrings, second bracelet and thin belly chain jewelry are all in coordinating shades of small beads. To complete the look, she wears stylish violet heels with white straps that echo her hairband. Laura feels pretty and ready for fun in the sun wearing this bright, flirty look!

My Style:

Bikini: Micro String Bikini in Mauve Floral by Rosenwolf Design
Heels: Soleil in White/Violet by N-core
Earrings & Bracelet: Emily Set by Burroughs
Floral Bracelet: Ibiza Bracelet by Sweet Lies
Belly Chain: Bikini Beads in Tropical Punch by EarthStones
Hair & Headband: Ruri in Brown Diamond by D!va
Flower in Hair: Hibiscus Hairpin by VioMagic
Nails: Glitter Manicure Prim Nails by Sexy Mamas
Lipstick: Strawberry Lip Creme by M.O.C.K
Eyelashes: BlackDarling by Redgrave

Looks good! Feeling satisfied that I completed the task well, I decided to take this bikini to the beach for a relaxing end to the day.

CWS Top Model Pageant Performance

On Sunday I both attended and performed in Classic W/ Style's Top Model Pageant, which was truly amazing! The five models who competed in this three-part event have such talent, poise and beauty. The pageant had a futuristic theme, which lent itself to some very interesting and creative outfits. Each model's talent portion of the competition was also truly spectacular with inventive dances, elaborate futuristic sets and special effects.

There were some really big prizes for the contestants, totaling 200,000 Lindens!! Here they are in the order that they placed, wearing their formal outfits. The theme for this final category of the pageant was creative split gowns for women and formal tailcoats for men.

4th Runner Up: Agee Canto
Prize Amount: 5,000 Lindens

Agee was very creative in styling her own split gown outfit for this competition. She created the look using pieces that came from many designers, including Ydea. The total ensemble has a wild fantasy look to it, aligning with the event's theme. The interplay of textures, patterns, and colors of black, white and pinks keep the eye busy looking at this creative outfit. There is the silky smooth texture of the pink fabric, the black frilled lace on the side of the dress's skirt, the black and white patterned bodice with matching gloves, and the soft feathered headdress worn atop a curled high hair do. Agee could be off to the ball in this wonderful gown, ready to perform and have a good time.

3rd Runner Up: LizzyLola Resident
Prize Amount: 10,000 Lindens

As Lizzy was searching the grid for the perfect gown with a slit, she came upon this beautiful pink and white orchid dress from Utopia. The gown has a strapless halter top with a high side split that shows off her long legs. There is a beautiful gold embellishment that runs along the edge of the dress's fabric. Attached to the back of the gown is a lovely peacock -like floral design made of silk with orchids printed on it, which gives the dress a delicate and airy appearance. Lizzy has accessorized with gold jewelry from Lazuri that goes along with the theme of her gown. The headpiece that she wears is also from Utopia and has three beautiful orchids on it. Lizzy has completed this look with a pair a nude stilettos from N-core.

2nd Runner Up: Liberty Lighthouse
Prize Amount: 25,000 Lindens

Liberty fell in love with this Tribal Glam white gown from Utopia. The enchanting bodice draws the feminine shape with perfect lines that run down both sides of her ribcage. Origami folds create the elaborate skirt, with feathers and intricate details. An open slit in the front reveals her legs, moving in a soft and natural way that makes it charming and classy. Liberty decided to accessorize this dress with an exotic feathered tribal head piece, a cascade of shoulder feathers, a silver tribal skull collar from Utopia, silver claw earrings from ZC, and open-toed silver stiletto heels with black gems from N-core. She is wearing Fantasy Makeup from Madrid Solo and an amazing silver and black leopard print Legend eyeshadow.

1st Runner Up: Zigrich Zsigmond
Prize Amount: 50,000 Lindens

Zigrich is wearing a new trend for men’s semi-formal wear in the 1920s: the tuxedo jacket, also called a dinner jacket, rather than the traditional tails. The tuxedo jacket of the ‘20s was still fairly long, falling below the hips. Thin notched or peaked lapels were the most fashionable, but got wider as the decade progressed. They were often cuffed at the wrists, sometimes with contrasting material such as satin or faille. Most were single-breasted, but a double-breasted version became popular in the late ‘20s that was considered very un- couth by the upper and older classes. Two flap pockets were often found on the front, and a slit breast pocket was a newer addition. Men’s fashions were inspired by WWI army jackets and tuxedos were worn buttoned up high, military-style.

WINNER: Sidney Abbot
Prize Amount: 100,000 Lindens

She was also awarded Ms Photogenic, winning 5,000 Lindens and Best Creative Outfit, winning an additional 5,000 Lindens.

Sidney wanted to wear a gown with a different look and a slit in the front of the dress to show off her legs. This gown is from Utopia and was exactly what she wanted because of its elaborate shoulder piece and futuristic appeal. The gown is made of beautiful black lace and has a front slit. The skirt is flowing and has little white pearls for accents. The shoulder piece is a definite fashion statement, floating above and moving fluently with the gown. Black lace gloves are also a part of this ensemble. Sidney wears a lovely headpiece that matches the shoulder piece, and she has decided to wear simple pearl earrings and a ring to complement her gown. She chose a funky updo for her hair and her makeup is a soft silver shadow with black eyeliner to show off her blue eyes. Sexy black sandals complete the ensemble. Sidney was thrilled with the finished look and she feels like she could be floating in the sky like a shining star.

Gown- Fairway Noir by Utopia
Hair- Stradivarius by Vanity Hair
Heels- Eternity by N-Core
Pearl Earrings & Ring- Gold Sassy White Pearl Set by Alienbear Design
Makeup- Brillance Eye Makeup by Glamorize

Congratulations to everyone who competed in the top model pageant! I must say that I was incredibly impressed with all of the contestants. The amount of time and effort that goes into preparing for these pageants is immense, and each one of them shined in the spotlight on the runway.

In addition to the five models who competed in the pageant's three categories, there was also a large group performance towards the end of the show that Dean Janet Brink had invited me to perform in. She choreographed a lovely Arabian dance set to music and created an impressive backdrop set with lush palm trees and a pink canopy for the runway. Although I was too busy dancing to take a picture of the actual performance, I did snap this photo while we were waiting backstage. Doesn't it look so much like a Degas painting of dancers before a recital or during a rehearsal? We look so pretty. Other models who performed in the Arabian dance include Laci Rossini-Washborne, Summitt Beaumont, Becky Kénaan, Zykeria Artis, and Jeannie Dreamer.

Here's another photo of me dancing in the costume. The dress and veil were required pieces, but I styled the rest. This is a lovely dress in beautiful sunny yellow and glowing white that flows around the body so elegantly while you dance. It really makes me feel like an Arabian princess!

My Style:

Dress: Beauty in White by Ramp
Veil: White Veil by Amelia's
Necklace: Shahrazad Necklace by Ashira's Aerie Creative Jewelry
Earrings & Bracelets: part of the Beauty in White outfit by Ramp
Belly Jewelry: Gold Waist Chains Combo by Jamman Jewels & Accessories

Eyelashes: BlackDarling by Redgrave
Eyeshadow: Gothic Makeup Super Smokey Eyeshadow by Nar Mattaru

I really enjoyed being part of the performance and felt like it was one baby step towards actually being in a pageant some day. I definitely learn a lot each time I attend a fashion show or pageant produced by Classic W/ Style. They are also really impressive and enjoyable to watch. If you haven't seen one yet, make sure you grab a CWS show schedule and come out to join us!

Sage Fashion Show: Premiering with CWS!

Saturday was my first fashion show with Classic W/ Style, marking the next step in my modeling career. The audience was packed and it was quite an experience - I was so excited! The show featured fashions by Sage, ranging from swimwear to formal gowns. I was honored to showcase the work of Ms. Sage Pexie, who has designed a really lovely line of clothing. Here are some rehearsal photos that I snapped to show you all of the outfits. We were putting them on in rapid speed as we performed the formation on the Dome runway!

OLIVIA is just stunning with its many options included. Start your day with the transparent lace mini dress, allowing a peek at your underwear, its deep V-shaped neckline, short sleeves with flexi cuffs and a beautiful bow in the back. The night coming, add the long lace or lace and satin train and you are ready to dance the night away. Available in black, red, copper and blue.

I felt like a princess in this gown, it is really lovely. And you can wear it in so many ways, which I really appreciate.

Dress: Olivia in Blue by Sage Fashions
Jewelry: Noor Natural Spectacular by Lazuri
Shoes: Caresse in Blues by N-core

GABRIEL is a beautiful gown in lace with its sheer lace halter neckline showing off a superb detailing in the prints. The top comes with and without the backing. The skirt piece is flexible with nude backings. Available in black, red, green and blue!

This dress was a real crowd pleaser, judging from all the applause. I felt glamorous wearing it, and the high slit that exposes the right leg is very sexy! I also love the revealing long oval opening in the back of the dress. My hair is styled to complement that shape as well as the dress's floral pattern.

Bracelet: Enchanted by Lazuri
Ring: Shepard's Jubilee in Blue by Chop Zuey
Shoes: Caresse in Blues by N-core

PAMELA is the most daring bikini of the season! Barely there horizontal straps hold the fabric together. Just when it looks like the bottom is going to fall off, Sage created a safety strap to keep you from embarrassment! Get every color available for all the days of the week. Available in slate, silver, red, purple, pink, gold, blue and teal!

This is quite the revealing swimsuit! The interesting zig-zag design of the thin black straps, played against the shiny silver fabric, makes it a very striking outfit.

ANGELINA is available in a gown version and a dress. It is a magnificent set with its transparent lace bolero top closed by two small toggles in front, and ruffles along the collar and the elbow length sleeves. Leaving a bare midriff, the dress has a short skirt ruffle that gives the final touch to this very feminine set. You can also wear it without the skirt, which gives an even more sexy look. In the evening, add the long one-leg high split skirt held together with two small toggles on the hip. Ruffles around the waist and down the leg add sensuality to this marvelous gown! Available in gold, black, red, blue and sage.

Styling Like a Greek Goddess: Aphrodite

Wow, have I been busy! Earlier this week I participated in Classic W/ Style's Greek Goddess styling competition, and I placed among the top three models. I've always loved Greek myth, so I jumped at the chance to put together an outfit. I'd actually like to do a series of Greek (and Egyptian, for that matter) goddesses some day, but for now I had to pick just one - and I chose the fairest of them all, of course! Here is my styling description from the event and some photos to show off the outfit:

Welcome everyone and thank you for coming to tonight's styling event. My name is Laura Reverie and I have transformed into Aphrodite, the Greek goddess of love, beauty and desire. In my hands I hold two of this goddess's identifying attributes. The mirror reflects her immense beauty, and it is in the shape of a heart that symbolizes love.  The golden apple is what she won in a contest judged by Paris that determined the fairest of the Greek goddesses. There is none more beautiful or desirable than Aphrodite.

Perhaps this goddesses' most identifiable attribute is her nudity. I have chosen to wear short silks with seashells that convey her famous birth as a full-grown woman emerging out of sea foam (Greek: aphros), from which her name is derived, and floating ashore on a scallop shell. To represent this myth, I have edited the lovely Rusalka outfit by Caverna Obscura to include the frothy sea foam silks and shell garments held together with golden coral. My eyelashes are also rimmed with tiny pearls from the sea.

My long wavy hair, Daphne by EMO-tions, is pulled up into a lovely style that is classically Greek. Atop my head I wear a golden tiara designed by Posh that has a mirror-shaped emblem to symbolize Aphrodite's beauty. The En Tournant necklace by Lazuri echoes the scallop shell shape and hangs around my neck. My wrist and ankles are adorned with golden jewelry from Second Moon, the kind that Aphrodite's smith-working husband would have made for her. Yet this goddess was sought after by many other gods and men. I wear golden strap heels that lace across the front of the foot and mystical golden light swirls around me as I move, which is an aura of godliness that sets Aphrodite apart from mere mortals.

My Style:

Shell Bra & Skirt: Rusalka I in Crystal Water by Caverna Obscura (edited)
Shoulder Silks: Rusalka II in Crystal Water by Caverna Obscura (edited)
Hair: Daphne in Dark Brown by EMO-tions
Tiara: Crown of Aphrodite by Posh
Necklace: En Tournant Necklace 2 by Lazuri
Bracelet & Anklets: Mirror Cageo Bangles & Anklets by Second Moon
Shoes: Athena Heels in Gold by Bad Kitty
Nails: Glitter Manicure Prim Nails by Sexy Mamas
Eyelashes: Lash Architect with Round Diamonds by NOYA
Lipstick: Tia Maria Lip Gel by M.O.C.K
Mirror: Heart Hand Mirror by AtiXx Design (edited)
Apple: From Crate of Apples by Eclyps 3D (edited)

I would like to thank the owners, staff, and members of the CWS community for giving me this wonderful opportunity to develop my modeling skills in such a talented, supportive and active group. I have truly grown as an individual because of this experience, and every day I learn from you all. I am honored to be in your company.

I found the Rusalka dress by Caverna Obscura to be very lovely and it had many elements that I was looking for, but I actually did quite a bit of editing to the small prims to achieve a look that was less mermaid and more Aphrodite washing ashore. After all, every Greek goddess needs her identifying attributes. It works and has a creative twist. Styling this outfit was a lot of fun, and it's always interesting to see the many interpretations on a theme that compete in these styling events. If you haven't watched one yet, then you should! Classic W/ Style Corporation holds them every week, Monday-Wednesday at 5 pm slt on the Main Stage. Here's your limo to the next event: CWS Main Stage Audience. Near where you'll land is a sign that gives you a complete schedule. Come and check it out!

Peacock Feathers & Pearls: A 1920s Styling

Newly enrolled in the University of Classic W/ Style's Advanced Masters in Modeling course, I have been tasked with creating a 1920s styling for the first casting class of the month. I have always loved this era of jazz, speakeasies and flappers, but hadn't actually studied 1920s fashion in depth until now. What a joy it's been to research vintage trends online, peruse the Marketplace and in-world shops, and explore historic period sims! While putting this look together, I made every effort to pay close attention to historic accuracy and I sought high quality and unique items. Here is the pageant-style description that I have prepared for this outfit:

Good evening, my name is Laura Reverie and I am a young woman dressed for a night of dancing and jazz music during the Roaring Twenties. The olive knee-length dress that I'm wearing tonight, designed by Choke, is a statement of the new found freedom that women of this era were experiencing for the first time. It shows off my bare arms and has a hem that falls just above the knee, which allows a peek of rouged bare skin to be visible above my knee-length silk stockings. This tubular dress falls straight from the shoulders and has a very loose-fitting, boyish form that de-emphasizes my chest and hips - a much sought-after silhouette of the day. With only stitching to suggest a dropped waistline, this dress allows me greater movement as I dance the Charleston all night long. It is embellished with decorative beads and embroidered patterns, characteristic of the ornamentation popular for that time.

Also in keeping with the fashion I have bobbed my dark hair, which was designed by Bliensen & MaiTai. It is fastened in back with those newly invented bobby pins and the short front pieces along my temple are curled into perfect little spitcurls. The coordinating olive green bandeau that I wear on my head has a fine mesh netting that covers my hair and keeps it in place while I dance. It is ornamented with teardrop pearls that frame my face, a bow in back, and three peacock feathers attached to the side with a pin, evidence of the craze for the exotic during this era. I wear matching pearl earrings and an elaborate decorative necklace made by Maxi Gossamer that has pearl beads that fall low down my chest. On one hand I wear an ornate pearl bracelet by Terra d'ombrA which I absolutely love. It has ornate attached beading that elegantly covers the back of my hand and fastens to a ring, which is a glamorous alternative to a glove that reveals more skin.

I am also showing off my ankles and the skin of my feet in these stylish T-strap shoes, created by L'Emporio. They have been dyed to match my dress color and they're perfect for dancing, considered to be sexy for the era. My nails are painted with the new enamel paint that has recently emerged and I have applied bold red lipstick and smudged dark kohl eyeliner along with false eyelashes to draw attention to my face. Since I carry these cosmetics with me, as is the new trend of the period, I have an embroidered handbag with decorative metal clasp and fringe beading that coordinates with my outfit. All of the fashion elements in the ensemble that I am wearing are classic signs of the liberating freedom of the 1920s woman and appropriately evoke that great era.

My Style:

Dress: Daisy Moss by Choke
Hair & Hat: Flashmans Opium in Jet Black by Bliensen & MaiTai
Necklace & Earrings: Angelika by Maxi Gossamer
Hand Jewelry: Marie Antoinette Parure by Terra d'ombrA
Ring: Vintage Rose in Vert by Eclectica
Bag: Pastel Beaded Bag in Peach by The Millinery Shoppe
Stockings: Naturel Knee-highs by Lali's
Shoes: Melinda T-Strap Shoes in Olive by L'Emporio
Nails: Drop Dead Red Manicure Prim Nails #41 by Sexy Mamas
Lipstick: Lip Creme in Cinnamon by M.O.C.K
Eyelashes: Fancy by Redgrave
Eyeliner: [K]Ojen MK02 by KOOQLA

Here is a collage that I have created using images of period clothing that I found to be an inspiration for this outfit. I discovered many of these pictures through google searches and on www.etsy.com. Also to give credit, I did a great deal of research on 1920s fashion on www.fashionencyclopedia.com. These are terrific resources for learning about and looking at vintage clothing.

The SL photographs in this post were taken in the 1920s Chicago sim, a truly wonderful recreation of a cultural epicenter from that era. Wearing this outfit in that sim, I felt transported back in time and must agree with their slogan, "who says you can't live in the past?" One of the most wonderful things about Second Life is the opportunity to experience aspects of the world that cannot be done in real life. This is one of them. So go dress yourself up in the glorious fashions of the 1920s and dance your way down to Chicago: http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Shepham%20Estates/129/224/22. I'll see you there!

Video Winner at the Ania Mode Fashion Show!

This past weekend, I attended the Ania Mode fashion show featuring the fabulous designs of Ms. Ania Lennie. Her gorgeous creations looked simply stunning on the runway!

Not only does she design wonderful clothing, she is also a beautiful CWS super model. I can only imagine how rewarding it must be to wear one's own clothing as the spotlight model of a show.

Ms. Lennie graced the stage wearing her splendid Alana black and white gown in feathers and lace. This dress features a long skirt that flares to the floor and a high split on the side that shows off the leg. She looked lovely showing off the gown's striking elegance!

Ms. Lennie's newest line demonstrates her versatility as a designer and her creations were worn by beautiful CWS models on stage.

One of the final dresses worn on the runway was the beautiful Barbara gown, which features a lovely ruffled organza collar crowning a transparent textured flower top. A high cut slit in the multilayered organza floor-length dress shows off glimpses of a slender leg. Seen here in pink.

Melina is an exquisite gown fashioned all in lace. It has a see-through strapless top with a sweetheart neckline and a wide multilayer skirt that gently billows around the floor. Ruffled elbow-length gloves complete this stunning look, pictured here in green.

The Venus gown has a beautiful high collar that drapes over the breasts, exposing a bare midriff and navel, and then spills to the floor in a full length skirt. The fabric is exquisite in texture and color, seen here in purple.

To my delight, I was one of the fortunate guests in the audience to be selected for the final fashion video! I was given the gorgeous Tresor cocktail dress in bronze, designed by Ms. Lennie, to wear on stage. This elegant dress includes a wide brimmed hat with a plume of feathers and a lovely airy scarf that drapes down the back. The multilayer skirt flounces around the legs with each movement. I felt absolutely stunning wearing this dress!

Rocking the Audience in Liv-Glam

Wow, time flies when you're having fun!

What have I been up to these past few weeks, you ask? Aside from shopping sprees, sorting inventory, exploring, picture taking, and the occasional dancing, I've been attending some incredible shows produced by Classic W/ Style Corporation. And I've been rocking the audience in the new spring line of clothing from Liv-Glam. I can't tell you how much I absolutely love this store! Samantha Jones designs truly incredible, highly detailed clothing. I fawn over rich textures and mesh details, and my eyes have just been soaking up the Liv-Glam perfection.

Here I am arriving at the CWS-produced Do You Think You Can Dance Finale, wearing the Shanty mini dress from Liv-Glam's Spring Boutique. Maybe this is just the art history-lover in me, but I was attracted to the pattern which closely resembles an ancient Chinese design commonly seen on decorative objects. In fact, one of the colors that this dress comes in is the classic cloisonne blue. But I decided to stick with black for this short and spunky outfit, which has a bit of an edge that suited some of the dance styles of the evening. I paired the mini dress with some other asian-infused accessories and platform heels that complement the wide black bands and gold accents on the dress. Sporting a short black hairdo with choppy bangs and a mini dress that shows off my long legs, I felt ready to jump on stage and bust out some moves in this outfit!

I also attended the CWS May Model of the Month Contest, wearing the spring Sabrina Bodycon dress by Liv-Glam. This season is all about bright colors and bold patterns, and this form-fitting knee-length dress achieves both. The spiraling cream lines over bright royal purple-blue has an attention-getting elegance when you walk into a room. I decided to play down the accessories, letting the dress in all its glory take center stage. I completed this outfit with cream-colored jewelry and crisscrossing strappy heels that echo the lines in the clothing. I felt like all eyes were on me in this totally striking dress!

Most recently, I attended the Ania Mode fashion show at the CWS Dome Runway wearing the Ella Night Dress from the K Collection by Liv-Glam. I will blog this show separately in another post, but wanted to show off the outfit that I wore to the event. This gorgeous evening dress has a silvery-blue embroidered floral pattern that sparkles in the light and looks absolutely stunning. I love how the mesh hem line falls slightly lower in front, showing off the back of my legs. I decided to accessorize with glistening jewelry that complements the design and high heels that have small flowers at the toes. Exquisitely crafted, very lovely and refined, this dress made me feel every bit as sophisticated and sleek.
