Winning The Oscars Styling Competition

In honor of my training and achievements as a model with Classic With Style, I thought I'd share my amazing experience of winning The Oscars Styling Competition with all of you. I have been most fortunate to grow as a model in this group, and have great aspirations for the new year ahead.

Prior to the big event, I stopped at The Rose Theatre for some glamorous ambiance and inspiration. Here is a lovely picture of me on stage during rehearsal, which shows off the incredible back of Utopia's Ester special edition gown. Although the original shade of red and silver accents was quite lovely, I adjusted the dress to make it an even more vibrant reddish hue with specks of gold. In my opinion, this gave it a glowing shimmer truly worthy of Oscar Night.

Oh, did I ever want to peek inside the golden Academy Award presenter's envelope in my hand, which was specially crafted with fine details for the occasion! But I maintained my composure and rehearsed until I felt flawless before making my grand entrance.

When I arrived at the red carpet, everyone looked so stunning in their gowns and suits! The other competitors, announcer and judges were all wearing their best for the evening, and a large audience had filled the CWS Main Stage venue. With confidence and poise, I was the second model to walk that night. Here is what I prepared for the styling competition:

Good evening ladies and gentlemen and welcome to the annual Academy Awards! My name is Laura Reverie and I have the special honor of presenting tonight's Best Production Design award. But first, let's pay a tribute to fashion at the most prestigious red carpet event of them all: The Oscars.

Fashion designers Elie Saab and Badgley Mischka both revealed a line of stunning red gowns in their Spring 2014 collections that are destined for the red carpet, just in in time for this year's Academy Awards. I have chosen to wear the vivid red Ester gown by Utopia for this most formal of award ceremonies. Its elaborate jewel and beadwork bodice extends to the floor in a long front skirt panel, which creates an eye-catching shape for the dress that is reminiscent of the slender Oscar statuette pose with a long sword.

The fashionable Heidi Klum was spotted most recently at the Emmy's in a similarly adorned red gown, although the one I am wearing tonight also incorporates the fuller ball gown skirt that has been trending on the red carpet. The long tiered skirt of this dress elegantly billows behind me as I walk, delicately ornamented with a sheer spray of gold glittery tulle. I'm wearing the elegant Calypso low side-knot hairstyle created by Bliss Couture to show off the plunging scallop-cut back of this dress, and two tall slits in the front fabric of the skirt reveal commanding glimpses of my slender legs. This bold yet refined dress is sure to stand out against the more pastel colors of spring 2014's fashion palette.

As is customary at The Oscars, I am wearing luxurious jewelry to complement my dress. The Noor Mystic Infinity set by Lazuri echoes the beaded line pattern of the gown in the way that the diamonds drip off of my ears and down my chest. I have applied a dark smoky mascara and vivid red lipstick to accentuate the glamorously dramatic Hollywood look.

And now for the moment we've all been waiting for... The award for Best Production Design goes to... Classic With Style, for their incredible talent, vision and direction of the best modeling school and corporation in Second Life! I would like to sincerely thank you for all of your kindness, attention, and wisdom that you have shared to help me become a better model, and for everything that you contribute to SL and our lives.

After skillfully walking the seven stop formation on stage with an elegantly choreographed set of poses, I presented my speech. It was received with much applause, and then I took my place to watch the other competitors with great appreciation for the wonderful talent among the CWS group. I held my breath while the judges tallied their scores, and it was with immense joy and honor that I accepted the Oscar statuette for winning the styling competition. What a great experience and memory to cherish!

In light of recent news among the group, I sincerely hope that the curtain does not close on CWS, and that we all may continue to enjoy quality talent-developing events like this one in the new year ahead.
